Overview

Stockport Exchange is one of the North West’s most successful new business destinations, delivered through a long‑term partnership between Stockport Council and Muse. It has transformed the area around Stockport Railway Station into a thriving commercial hub, providing high‑quality, accessible and sustainable workspace in the heart of the town. Buildings 1, 2 and 3 are complete and occupied by major employers including Stagecoach, musicMagpie, Holiday Inn Express, Sainsbury’s, BASF, Industrials REIT and HURST. From summer 2026, Vitality will also relocate to Stockport Exchange, bringing at least 1,000 additional employees to the site.

About the development

Stockport Exchange has a further four commercial development phases planned over the next decade, continuing its legacy to create new jobs and opportunities in the North West, while driving economic growth and social prosperity right into the heart of the town.

Vision

Stockport Exchange is entering its final stages of development, with Phase 4 set to bring 60,000 sq ft of highly sustainable Grade A office space, followed by the remaining phases, which will deliver a further 185,000 sq ft of employment space as part of the updated masterplan. Together, these future phases will add 245,000 sq ft of new office accommodation to the district, strengthening Stockport Exchange’s role as one of the North West’s leading business hubs and supporting continued job growth and investment in the town centre.
